With more than 30 years of salon experience, Steven Sobel possesses an almost intuitive understanding of hair styling: the way a cut’s geometry frames a client’s face, the subtleties and nuances of color, and perhaps most importantly, the fine art of listening. Meeting new people and understanding what they want is an integral part of the job. “I can pull from a vast experience of successes and quickly make a creative decision that will change the look of a hairstyle,” Sobel says. This ability is what separates a master hair designer from the rest — and after being named one of the country’s top colorists by Allure magazine in 1999 and one of the top hair salons by Elle in 2009-2010, Sobel and his team of top hair stylists have achieved that distinction. Housed in a cozy space with wood floors and local art on the walls, Steven Sobel Hair Salon combines top-notch hair artistry with a welcoming atmosphere.
