Modern Salon & Spa was founded in 1989 by Arsalan and Arezo Hafezi with the opening of their first location in Colwick Towers. Arezo Hafezi, the salon’s Artistic Creative Director, brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge and artistry to the brand. Her education includes training with iconic industry leaders such as Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy, as well as studies with internationally renowned hair academics throughout Europe and the AVEDA Institute in the United States.
Together, Arezo and Arsalan combined technical excellence with a passion for customer service, quickly establishing a reputation for quality and professionalism. As the business grew, the salon moved to East Boulevard, where the Hafezis were able to fully realize their vision of a luxurious European-style salon and spa in the heart of Charlotte. This location allowed them to elevate the guest experience through thoughtful design, advanced services, and unmatched attention to detail.
In August 2008, the East Boulevard location closed and transitioned to the Metropolitan area, opening in November 2008. Today, Modern Salon & Spa continues to serve clients across multiple locations, including Phillips Place, Hearst Tower, Birkdale Village, Metropolitan, and a Corporate Office—each reflecting the brand’s dedication to excellence and consistency.
